Moving magnate starting FedEx project in North Arlington

A company owned by moving magnate Moishe Mana expects to start con-struction on a FedEx Freight distribution center in North Arlington that will bring more than 200 jobs to the borough, joining other businesses that have made the Meadowlands a logistics hub.

Jersey City-based Porete Development LLC is proceeding with redevel-opment of the 43.3-acre site at 38 Porete Ave. after receiving final site-plan approval from the borough Planning Board last month. The project, slated for land once owned by Bethlehem Steel that has been vacant for about 30 years, is the first tax ratable of such magnitude to come to the town in roughly a dozen years, said Robert Ceberio, the borough's economic de-velopment consultant.
